Why do I choose meditation and mindfulness?
I was formally introduced to and engaged in mindfulness training for stress management and effortless living in 2013. I began teaching others formally in 2015.
In 2014, I attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and became certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. This training primarily focused on micro/macro nutrients with a strong emphasis on the necessity of life balance. IE: spiritual, relationship, financial, emotional, physical health.
While providing services as a Health Coach, it became undeniably clear that the amount of suffering people are experiencing can not be relieved by physical changes alone. The service I was providing organically and effortlessly transformed into full time meditation and mindfulness training.
I currently work with individuals 1 on 1 as well as hosting group classes.
Through the years, I have found that an integration of different meditation styles yields the most benefit for my clients.
A typical meditation includes the modalities of mindfulness, loving-kindness and a sanskrit mantra/sutra so the experience can be anchored into your consciousness. I want you to have access to and allow that feeling of freedom in your everyday life. Before leaving, you will receive a piece of paper with that days mantra name and it's definition so you can refer to it as needed.
In the interest of being of service to everyone equally, I do not subscribe to or promote any particular system of belief or teaching. I fully understand that the enormous physical, psychological, emotional and physiological benefits of quieting the mind through meditation can be a self-propelled and method free process. Although techniques and aids may be helpful in the beginning, the overall goal will always be to encourage the participant to recognize and embrace their own personal power and control.
The current class structure includes a question and answer period after each meditation session but, of course that is optional. I am always open to new ideas and ways of doing things as my only goal is to help people find their bliss and thrive.
The gift of meditation and mindfulness have brought me to a place of inner peace, understanding, and a joy for life that I once considered impossible.
Sharing that gift is my Dharma.
